New Route & 🎬 alert - we are happy to say that Rou New Route & 🎬 alert - we are happy to say that Roughstuffing in Fife is now live on our website & Markus’ YouTube channel @reizkultur

The route is inspired by Markus’ chat with Fife resident George Berwick about this time last year.

At a time when adventure is increasingly commodified through the filter of social media, George represents a quieter tradition of self-supported exploration.

His story connects post-war cycling culture with today’s resurgence in gravel riding and bikepacking, while offering something deeper: a meditation on ageing, resilience and curiosity.

He and other members of the Rough Stuff Fellowship have influenced our cycling trips. The Fellowship was founded in 1955 by riders seeking out places not ordinarily perceived as accessible by bike — often carrying, pushing, or even hanging off chain walks with their bicycles.

This is what inspired us to map a new route in Fife in partnership with @welcometofife - Fife is an incredible place to ride. It has not only inspired us to create this route and the film, but also five more routes, which will be featured in our next book.

It’s somewhere where you can explore almost all year round, and we think that makes it very attractive. We love bikepacking in places where people ordinarily live — it means cafés, restaurants and local businesses aren’t just open for the tourist season.

Enjoy the new film & route! #bikepacking #lovefife #adventure
