Introduction to Bikepacking – Guided Ride

Event Details

Part of the Braemar Mountain Festival

Bikepacking is a new form of long-distance cycling, where all your belongings are strapped in bags on the bike. The main difference to conventional cycle touring with panniers is the ability to explore much more than you can imagine. The secret to bikepacking is to pack less, and enjoy more.

If you want to experience bikepacking first hand, join Bikepacking Scotland’s Markus Stitz and Jay Lamb on a half day guided ride around Braemar. Both Markus and Jay are qualified mountain bike leaders and very experienced bikepackers. On this 3 hour guided ride they will lead you though the magnificent landscape of the Cairngorms National Park, while sharing their bikepacking tips and tricks.

Price: £30 – max 15 people – Tickets here

Please note: A well-maintained and safe mountain bike, helmet, protective gloves and glasses, clothing appropriate for the weather conditions and appropriate shoes are compulsory. You will also need to bring your own food and any spares necessary for the ride. Weather dependent, we reserve the right to cancel the event if there is snow cover or other weather conditions, which do not allow for safe guiding under the British Cycling Mountain Bike Leadership Award Level 2. Before the ride you will need to complete a rider information and consent form.
